Materials:  Kisii Soapstone from Kenya

These hand-carved birds are an adorable décor piece or the perfect gift.

Our delicate little birds begin as a large piece of Kisii soapstone carved out of the mountains of Kenya with a machete.  The stone is then cut into small pieces and whittled down into the shape of a bird.  The bird is then wet-sanded until it is perfectly smooth and the natural beauty of the soapstone shines.  Each bird takes days to make.
