This beautiful planter is hand-carved out of natural soapstone in Kisii, Kenya. The artisans begin by cutting the stone out of the mountain with a machete. Using the machete they continue to cut the stone into smaller pieces and then use knives to delicately carve the square planter. It is then wet-sanded until it is perfectly smooth. This planter is NOT made by any machines but only by the hands of skilled craftspeople. Each is a work of art. Each is unique in the natural color of the stone.

The square planter has a hole in the bottom for drainage making it perfect for live plants. It is also perfect for a pen/pencil box on your desk or for your favorite dried flower arrangement. What will you use it for?
