Materials: Kisii Soapstone from Kenya

Talk about intricate hand carving!  The Tree of Life ring dish is such a beautiful work of art.  This dish starts out as a large piece of soapstone cut out of a mountain side with a machete.  The stone is then cut into smaller pieces, whittled into shape, dyed, and etched with delicate designs by hand.  Each dish takes several days to make.
